| Horns consist of roughly 12 feet of tubing coiled into a compact form with a flared bell & 3 or 4 valves Music for the orchestral horn is written in F & sounds a perfect 5th below the written note. It is mainly an orchestral & chamber instrument & is one of the instruments in a standard wind quintet. It is also part of a more modern concert band. The Eb horn is mainly used in brass & marching bands. |
